Lease Car of the Year

A fine tradition

The election Lease Car of the Year was launched in 1991, and is the ideal occasion for Alphabet Belgium to share its TCO expertise and trend-watching. The initiative distinguishes itself by evaluating vehicles sold in Belgium between 1 February of the previous year and 31 January of the current year for their potential as company cars.

Jury

From its independent position not linked to any particular manufacturer, Alphabet puts a jury together composed of clients, specialist journalists and specialists of Alphabet.

Course of events

After thorough desk research into the new models, the jury draws up a shortlist during a kick-off meeting, with a Top 3 for each segment. The cars are categorised into the following four segments: economy, business, business + or executive.

The 12 nominees are then subjected by the jury to a thorough practical test. They mark their highest scores based on engine, transmission, driving features, equipment, luggage space and interior/exterior.

At the end of the course, the jury issues its final judgement, in which the objective assessment of the cars, the results of the practical tests and the votes of the Alphabet customers are decisive factors.

Each segment has its own 'Best in Class', but there is only one 'Overall Winner'. This car will be the 'Lease Car of the Year'.
