Leadership change at Alphabet, new CEO takes over July 1st

MUNICH 29/05/2019 – Marco Lessacher will take up the position of Chief Executive Officer at Alphabet International on July 1st 2019, succeeding long-standing CEO Norbert van den Eijnden. Lessacher will continue the successful work of his predecessor to make the company future-proof and position it as a leader in the fast-changing mobility services industry.

Marco Lessacher started his career at the BMW Group in 2007 and held various CEO functions, among others at BMW Financial Services and Alphabet Germany. He was subsequently responsible as Head of International Corporate, Direct and Special Sales at the BMW Group. In 2017, he assumed responsibility for BMW Group's Financial Services business in Central and Southeastern Europe and further developed the region with its eleven markets in a very successful and forward-looking manner as Chairman of the Board of BMW Austria Bank GmbH.

Lessacher succeeds Norbert van den Eijnden who will resign from his post as he takes up new challenges. Since 2009, van den Eijnden has successfully led Alphabet International as CEO and positioned Alphabet as a leading provider of Business Mobility in the leasing industry. Van den Eijnden will leave his successor a company with solid business foundations. Alphabet wishes him the best of luck for the next chapter of his life and is grateful for everything he has achieved during his tenure at Alphabet International.
