Alphabet drives international expansion of Corporate CarSharing solution AlphaCity

Business Mobility provider streamlines employee mobility in 8 European countries

MUNICH 30/07/2014 – As Business Mobility gains importance for companies around the globe, its complexity grows for both solution providers and the companies they serve. Customer requirements are constantly changing along with people’s understanding of what mobility involves. Alphabet’s consulting approach promotes a thorough understanding of customer priorities. Consequently, the Business Mobility provider can create holistic solutions that reflect and meet customer-specific requirements as well as being innovative, cost-efficient and sustainable. Alphabet’s Corporate CarSharing product AlphaCity is one of these solutions.

Carsten Kwirandt, Head of Marketing and Business Development at Alphabet International: “Corporate car sharing is becoming more and more attractive throughout Europe. AlphaCity has been on the market since 2010, which means that more than 3 years of experience have flown into it. Our customers tell us constantly that flexible and individual products like AlphaCity are exactly what they need today to meet their increasingly diverse mobility needs.” More than 8,000 registered users and over 4 million kilometres driven demonstrate the great acceptance of AlphaCity, which is now available in 8 European countries. Italy will be the next launch location with additional countries to follow soon. AlphaCity serves customers from small and medium-sized companies to global corporations.

AlphaCity begins with in an in-depth analysis of a customer’s mobility needs. Then, once set up, employees can simply book an AlphaCity car online, access and drive it keylessly, fill it up using an in-car fuel card and return it to the parking bay when they are done. AlphaCity is hassle-free for customers because Alphabet takes care of everything, from complete implementation and 24/7 driver help desk to vehicle servicing and cleaning. Plus, by letting employees book vehicles for private trips after hours and at weekends, companies not only maximise vehicle utilisation and recover some of the associated costs, they also present AlphaCity as an attractive employee incentive.

Another convincing aspect: AlphaCity’s high efficiency aspect lowers a company’s Total Cost of Mobility. It was this benefit that attracted one of Spain’s biggest Road Assistance and Damage Appraisal Company, Linea Directa Asistencia Spain, to the holistic concept. “We wanted to cut our outgoings through a more streamlined car pool,” says Francisco Valencia, Línea Directa Group’s spokesperson. “With AlphaCity, our employees have access to a company pool car whenever they need it and can be on the road quickly and easily – and we save money at the same time. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.”

To sum it up, AlphaCity stands for flexibility, convenience, low administrative burden, state-of-the-art technologies and top cost-efficiency. Furthermore, because companies are able to serve many employees more efficiently, their carbon footprint is reduced.

AlphaCity has been recognised with a number of awards. At the most recent Urban Mobility 3.0 event in London, Alphabet was awarded Company of the Year 2014 for the solution. In addition, AlphaCity took home the Best in Business Mobility prize from Financial Director Europe magazine and was honoured for being one of the 100 Best Ideas in 2013 by leading Spanish business periodical Actualidad Económica.
