Tell us a bit about your company, please. What makes Cartrust special?

At Cartrust, our team of experienced experts provides made-to-measure leasing services according to our customers’ specific wishes and needs.

Driving like a local: your best tips

What is your best advice as a local on vehicles, traffic, and general customs in your country?
Many people in Luxembourg have a passion for nice cars, however the growing traffic often interrupts the pleasure of driving them – especially when you enter Luxembourg city. In this regard, we mostly recommend using public transportation or other mobility solutions here, such as (electric) bikes. Nonetheless, you can find a great deal of charming roads to enjoy a smooth drive in the countryside: Discover the stunning views and roads close to the vineyards or the romantic scenery and historical villages in the north of the country.

Can you recommend some nice spots in your area as a must-visit for drivers?
Luxembourg city is built upon the historic ruins of the former Siegfried castle and has many alluring hotspots. We suggest spending at least two days exploring this part of the country with all its charismatic landscapes and buildings in the renowned ‘old town’ in the city centre. The vineyards along the Mosel and the northern villages of Vianden, Clervaux and surroundings are truly breath-taking as well and will allow for an unforgettable cultural experience.

What do drivers in your region attach particular importance to?
Since we have a rather high quality of life, all cars are well equipped and have automatic transmission, air conditioning, etc. Fun fact: Luxembourg also has one of the youngest car parks with an average lifetime of 6,4 years per car.

The new normal: COVID-19 measures in Luxembourg

How has the daily business changed for you since COVID-19?
Like everywhere in Europe, the pandemic has had an impact on the businesses in Luxembourg but thankfully not quite as drastically as in many other countries. The companies here quickly adapted to the new situation and enabled their employees to work from home. The economy fortunately did not regress since March 2020. We can even say with pride that Cartrust has even shown a positive development during this eventful period.

What special measures did you take to protect customers?
We promoted social distancing and favoured digital meetings over face-to-face encounters whenever possible.  We also enhanced hand hygiene, provided medical masks and antigen tests, etc. COVID-19 thankfully had little impact on our team and their motivation.

Mobility trends: fleet development

Which mobility services are the most important in your country?
Luxembourg certainly has some of the most advanced bike lanes in Europe. In line with a philosophy that promotes less roadway congestion and economic vitality, visitors can find electric bikes for short-term rental in various spots across the country. To accommodate car enthusiasts, we also have plenty of car rental possibilities in the capital, at the airport or near the train stations. In addition, carsharing services have been fostered over the years as the Luxembourgish government advocates for this kind of mobility.

What is your country’s road to zero policy, is there a governmental support for this? What actions are you taking in this area?
Zero emission has been a goal of the Luxemburgish government since 2015 and Cartrust follows this strategy, as well. Today, we offer all kinds of electrical mobility solutions, and we are able to propose a tailor-made mobility package (electric car or traditional combustion car for longer trips) according to our customer’s desires.
